How to start Phantom Liberty
Phantom Liberty unlocks mid-game in your existing save. You need to have completed the heist (The Heist main mission) and reached Act 2.
Trigger
- After Act 2 begins, you'll get a call from Songbird while traveling through Night City.
- The call activates the gig Dog Eat Dog.
- Travel to Black Sapphire / Dogtown entrance — south of Pacifica.
- The first checkpoint is the gate guarded by Barghest. Walk in, scene plays, you're in.
Recommended level
- Level 15-20 is the sweet spot. You can technically enter at any post-Act 2 level, but Dogtown enemies start at level 15+.
- You can return to base game freely from Dogtown.
- Phantom Liberty has its own ending path that unlocks ONLY if you start the DLC content. The DLC ending replaces the standard Mikoshi finale.

- If you started a fresh save and want to dive into Phantom Liberty, the game offers a "Skip to DLC" option from the main menu — gives you a level 15 V with starter gear.
If stuck: if Songbird hasn't called, you may have not progressed far enough into Act 2. Complete Transmission main mission first.
