How to beat Nemesis (Derelict Citadel boss)

Giant city-shaped boss. Mostly ranged. Verticality is the trick.

How to beat Nemesis (Derelict Citadel boss)

Nemesis is a building. The fight is mostly long-range, with vertical movement as your dodge.

Phase 1: one head

  • Three giant orbs float around the head. They fire in sync. Strafe sideways — they always lead the wrong direction at long range.
  • Aim for the head, not the body. The body has shields; the head doesn't.
  • Use the elevated platforms in the arena to break line of sight. Nemesis loses tracking.

Phase 2: two heads

  • The second head fires at the same time as the first — but offset. Watch the first head's pre-fire glow as your timing cue.
  • Keep moving in one circular direction around the arena.

Phase 3: three heads + missiles

  • This is where most attempts fail. Missiles arc — dash through them right before impact (i-frames).
  • Use cover behind the central pillar between volleys. Pop out, dump a mag, return.

Loadout that works

  • Coilspine Shredder — disc bounces between targets, hits heads consecutively.
  • Pyroshell Caster — slow but if you can land grenade hits, two-shots the heads in phase 1.

If stuck: the central pillar is the carry mechanic. If you're not using it for cover, you're playing the fight on hard mode for no reason.
